BSA Student Awards 2016

Each year The Bristol Society of Architects award prizes to Part I graduating students from the University of West of England and the University of Bath for most improved students over the course of their final year. 

The prizes are funded in part by the generous contributions of members who attend the various events organised throughout the year and we would like to thank all those who have contributed to this year’s prizes.

Once again the competition was very strong this year. The winners, as announced at the end of year shows that both took place on Thursday 2nd June 2016, are as follows:

RIBA Bristol & Bath / FFT Networking Harbour Tour

RIBA Bristol & Bath AGM

Don't miss the RIBA Bristol & Bath AGM with RIBA President Jane Duncan and including a tour of Bristol University's Life Sciences Building with architects from Sheppard Robson.

The event will kick off at 1745 on Wednesday 25 November at the Life Sciences Building and there'll be free drinks and even nibbles...

Green Manifesto Exhibition

Opening Night

To celebrate Bristol as the European Green Capital for 2015, this photographic exhibition explores how architects use innovative ways to create sustainable environments and demonstrate their green ethos. The launch night on Monday 15th June at Benjamin Perry Boat House was well attended.

Thanks to all companies who submitted a variety of entries and ideas, these will be on the website shortly. The submissions demonstrated the talent and depth of sustainable knowledge and design skill that our local architects have.

Congratulations to Casa Architects for Judges Favourite aware for their submission 'Fabric First, Passively Served, Enriched Experience'
Commendation was awarded to Noma Architects for 'Swings and Roundabouts' and Hewitt Studios for 'SERCH - Severn Estuary Research Community Hub'.

RIBA Bristol & Bath 2015 Exhibition

Green Manifesto

We are pleased to announce the theme for this year’s RIBA Bristol & Bath exhibition, ‘Green Manifesto.’ Registration is now open and emails have been sent to branch contacts with the submission pack. Register your interest by Wednesday 6th May, with the deadline for submissions on Friday 22nd May.
 
Thanks to generous sponsorship from Hobs Repographics we are also able to offer free entry to practices with less than 10 staff.
 
The launch party for the exhibition will take place on Monday 15th June. Following this the exhibition will be going on tour around numerous venues across the South West. We are also very pleased to announce that this year the RIBA will be taking part in the Bristol Harbour Festival, where the ‘Architruck’ will be displaying the exhibition to the public.
